Call Me the Target Tamer

This post is not sponsored by Target, Inc.

I am an unashamed slut for Target. I have been blessed to leave nearby a Super Target which means they have EVERYTHING! For 4 years, I've been shopping at Target exclusively for my groceries, among everything else. One of the misconceptions people have of Target is that it's too expensive. Well, allow me to dispel this by sharing some of my tips on how to get the most out of your Target Runs.

You can set the app to your local store and find deals happening in your town.

1. Download the Target App.

If you've gone this whole time without using the Target App, stop what you're doing now and download it.

Here you can look through the weekly ad and save offers. If you're unsure how much something costs or you want to see if there's a discount, you can scan the item with your phone and see the savings roll in! With the Wallet, you can scan additional coupons at checkout and link your payment for a fast and easy checkout.

My favorite feature of the app is the List, which I'll explain on how to use it in the next step.

2. Plan your Target Run Ahead of Time!

If you're looking to save for any shopping trip, it's best to plan in advance. This includes your budget, items that you need and coupons. The List feature in the Target App allows you to make your list. If there's a deal at your local store, it'll show up here as well.

Use this time to look through Cartwheel and make sure to hit the check mark for everything you know (and you think you know) you will buy. You can even stack manufacturer coupons with a cartwheel offer.

This was from my Target Run yesterday. The most I've saved on a trip so far has been ~$80

3. If you have REDcard, connect it to your Wallet.

This is the easiest way to make checkout as smooth as it can be while stacking up on the savings. When I run to Target, 99% of the time I pay through the app on my phone. It's not only faster, but with my REDcard connected to my Cartwheel offers and additional coupons saved to the Wallet (and those paper coupons too!), I can just see the total going down after my bar code is scanned.

There's nothing more satisfying than being congratulated by the cashier and shoppers behind you when you see your total savings. You deserve to pat yourself on the back for that one.

I hope that these tips will serve you well on your future Target Runs. I'm always looking for new ways to shave off the grand total on my receipt, so if you know of any tips please share them with me below!
